Box office specialists have been very concerned in recent weeks when they observed that two or three American blockbusters were taking the top spots with good scores, such as Doctor Strange 2, Top Gun: Maverick Where Jurassic World 3, but behind them, all the other exits were flopping. Few films passed like this the 100,000 per week mark.
Good news, the “curse” is over, and as at the US box office, the French ranking this week is on the rise again. Five films have sold more than 100,000 tickets, including three new releases. All are American productions: Jurassic World: The World After, Top Gun: Maverick, Buzz Lightning, Elvis and Black Phone.

The first retains the lead in the rankings thanks to 545,672 additional admissions recorded in 961 cinemas, i.e. 2.3 million spectators moved in three weeks. A good score followed by another even better, since the action film worn by Tom Cruise adds 448,946 curious people to its list in 849 cinemas in France, which increases its total to 4.2 million in five weeks. We can also note that the latest Marvel hangs in the top 10, in 9th place, accounting for 3.1 million countermarks in two months.
The latest Pixar, the biopic by Elvis Presley and the horror film worn by Ethan Hawke then take places 3 to 5, thanks to respectively 482,715 tickets sold in 641 theaters, 343,596 (for 686 prints) and 136,339 ( out of 301 rooms). Note that we take previews into account here.
French movies Incredible but trueby Quentin Dupieux, The perfect manwith Pef and Christian Clavier, and Champagne!carried by Elsa Zylberstein, François-Xavier Demaison and Stéphane de Groodt complete the ranking along with the Spanish film El Buen Patroneach winning between 47,000 and 78,000 movie tickets.
