Pascal Elbé and Sandrine Kiberlain triumph at the Cabourg festival [palmarès]

We are made to get along and A young girl who goes well dominate a list where Fanny Ardant, Swann Arlaud, Rebecca Marder, Mathieu Amalric have also been awarded.

Cabourg awarded last night its prize list which is divided as usual into two parts. On the one hand, the Swann Committee responsible for deciding between the more romantic films released since the previous edition of the festival. On the other, a jury chaired this year by Diane Kurys who had to choose from 6 new products in competition

On the Swann d’Or side, it was Pascal Elbé who won, in best film, with his very autobiographical We are made for each other in which he holds the leading role with Sandrine Kiberlain…

Sandrine Kiberlain particularly honored last night since her A young girl who is well he won the Swann d’Or for best first feature film and his interpreter, Rebecca Marder, the Swann for Female Revelation, the very first award of her career as she explained in a very moving speech.

First trophy also for his male counterpart, Yasin Houicha, hero of Brittle by Emma Benestan, which went too unnoticed when it was released in theaters (tied with Timothée Robart of Magnetic). The Swann d’Or for best actor and best actress went to Swann Arlaud for his composition as Yann Andrea in You only want me by Claire Simon and Fanny Ardant for The Young Lovers by Carine Tardieu, she left with the Swann for best director, awarded by the daughter of the late Solveig Anspach who had initiated this project inspired by her own mother before her death. Absent on the Normandy coast, Mathieu Amalric was rewarded with the Gonzague Saint-Bris Prize for the best adaptation for Hug me tight

Very present, Françoise Fabian delivered a superb speech – dedicated to Jean-Louis Trintignant, her partner of My night at Maud’s – by receiving his honorary Swann from the hands of Aure Atika who played his daughter in Pink by Aurélie Saada.

The Diane Kurys jury chose to take precedence Nelly & Nadine, a documentary by Swede Magnus Gertten narrating a love story between two young women born on Christmas Eve 1944 in the heart of the Ravensbrück concentration camp where they were both held prisoners. A film also acclaimed by young people and which, thanks to this double highlighting, could find a distributor in France. As for the public who flocked to the halls of the 2022 Romantic Film Festival for 4 days, they were rewarded maria dream, the first feature film by Lauriane Escaffre and Ivo Müller with Karin Viard and Gregory Gadebois, of which we confided to you yesterday all the good things we thought about it. We will be able to discover this romantic comedy in theaters on September 28.
