The behind-the-scenes comedy about Parisian stand-up has failed to find its audience.
If the shortest jokes are the best, we would still have liked to listen to those of Funny a little longer… The French Netflix series, launched with great fanfare at the opening of the Series Mania festival last March, has already been canceled.
Funny: “We are between tragic and comic, far from the Ten percent atmosphere”
The bad news was passed on to designer Fanny Herrero and her team of stand-ups, reveals The Inrocks today, stating that “insufficient audiences” are the reason for this rapid cancellation. No season 2 of Funnydespite rave reviews and a large part of the new episodes already written:
“We have made the difficult decision not to renew Funny for a second season, after almost three years of working together and a fruitful collaboration with Fanny Herrero, Les Films du Kiosque and the whole team. Our subscribers did not find their account there“, Netflix confesses to Inrocks.
Actor Younès Boucif, who plays Nezir in the series, also expressed his regrets on social networks, while thanking the public for their support:
