Margot Robbie wants to star in an Ocean’s Eleven set in 1960s Europe

The actress will find for the occasion Jay Roach, the director of Scandal (2019).

Back to basics for Ocean’s Eleven ! The 1960s cult film starring Frank Sinatra (who is called The Stranger of Las Vegasin VF) inspires a new version, no longer directed by Steven Soderberg with George Clooney, Brad Pitt and their friends (as in 2001), nor by Gary Ross for Sandra Bullock and her friends (as in 2018), but directed by Jay Roach (Austin Powers, My Stepdad and Me, Scandal…) for Margot Robbie and Warner Bros. The action won’t take place in Las Vegas this time around, nor in New York (the girls were robbing the famous MET gala in Ocean’s 8), but in Europe, and will therefore take place in the sixties instead of the current period.

The Hollywood Reporter, which reveals the info, specifies that this project is only at the draft stage. The screenplay is being written by Carrie Solomon and the idea will be to film it next spring, in order to free up the actress for the promotion of another big film from the studio: Barbieby Greta Gerwig, which will be released in July 2023. Margot Robbie will also be co-producer of this new Ocean’s via his company Lucky Chap, just like the director. Before this project, we will see Margot Robbie again in amsterdamby David O. Russell, and in babylonby Damien Chazelle, two works also taking place in the past (the 1930s and 1920s).

Is a new Ocean possible? Steven Soderbergh is thinking about it, assures Don Cheadle
