Hunger Games prequel: the interpreter of young Snow has been chosen

Tom Blyth (the Billy the Kid series) will succeed Donald Sutherland.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird will be released on November 17, 2023, but if Lionsgate quickly blocked this release date, we did not yet know its cast. We now know that Francis Lawrence, the director of episodes 2 to 4 of the saga, will direct Tom Blyth as Coriolanus Snow. This film project is indeed a prequel, telling the youth of the future dictator of Panem. It is directly inspired by the book by Suzanne Collins published in 2020 and was adapted by Michael Leslie (MacBeth with Michael Fassbender). Michael Arndt, screenwriter of Hunger Games – Catching Firewas mentioned for a while, but he finally had to give up his place on this project.

Tom Blyth, known so far for the series Billy the Kid and The Gilded Agewill therefore embody the main character of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird. It now remains to be seen who will play Lucy Gray Baird, the new heroine at the heart of the story: long before Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), she was the one who had been chosen to participate in the 10th Hunger Games as a District tribute 12.
