Warner Bros. updated their release schedule.
Denis Villeneuve has still not started filming Dunes 2. So Warner Bros. decided to push back the release of the film. Scheduled for October 20, 2023 in theaters, the sequel to the saga based on Frank Herbert will not finally be released until November 17, 2023 in cinemas in the USA (and certainly on the 15th in France).
In the cast, we will find Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, and Josh Brolin, as well as Christopher Walken alias Emperor Shaddam IV, and also Florence Pugh and Austin Butler.
Filming will begin in the next few days.
At the same time, Warner Bros. has set the date of the next round between Godzilla and King Kong. The next film in the franchise will be released in 2024. Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures dated Godzilla vs. Kong 2 as of March 15, 2024, three years after the two titans first fought, released in March 2021.*
For now, only Dan Stevens is officially announced in the casting. Adam Wingard will return to direct.
