Downton Abbey 3: Julian Fellowes talks about a possible sequel

“It would be nice to do a trilogy, wouldn’t it?”

Passéeau cinema in 2019, after six seasons, the English series Downton Abbey attracted 750,000 spectators in France for his first film. The second part, released last month, will do a little less, posting around 400,000 admissions today.

But while Downton Abbey 2 lands in American cinemas this weekend, everyone is wondering about the possibility of a new sequel and turning the franchise into a trilogy at the cinema. Julian Fellowes don’t know yet if there will be a Downton Abbey 3 and answers in Variety :

“Even if I did, I wouldn’t tell you! But I don’t know yet. The audience will say…”

Clear, Julian Fellowes would like to make a third (and last?) film to complete the story of the Crawleys. But the box office will be the only judge.

“It would be nice to do a trilogy, wouldn’t it?” valid Phyllis Logan, who plays housekeeper Mrs. Hughes. “But for that, people have to vote. With your feet, vote by going to see this film!”

Kevin Doyle, who plays valet Joseph Molesley, is also up for it: “Julian always surprises us with how he can invent extraordinary stories to bring us together again. If there is going to be another episode, I can’t wait to read it.

For now, Downton Abbey 3 is not yet officially planned.
