The James Bond actor has been approached to play the role of…
the Multiverse of Madness plays the card of Hollywood madness to the fullest and is full of cameos. But Doctor Strange 2 even almost did even more, by enlisting 007 in person. Spoiler alert!
Daniel Craig has indeed been approached to join the cast and more specifically the Illuminati band, within the Marvel Universe.
Doctor Strange 2 crushes the US box office and is already doing better than the first opus
If you’ve seen the movie, you’re bound to remember the scene in which Strange is taken to the Illuminati, a group consisting of Mordo, Captain Marvel (played by Lashana Lynch), Captain Carter (played by Haley Atwell), Black Bolt, Professor X (played by Patrick Stewart) and especially Reed Richards, Mister Fantastic of the Fantastic Four, played by John Krasinski himself!
According to Deadline’s Justin Kroll, he’s not the actor of The Officewhich was originally supposed to be in the scene, but Daniel Craig. The James Bond interpreter was the studio’s first choice to play Reed Richards, but the actor ended up backtracking at the last moment…
Why ? The COVID-19! At the time of filming, cases were on the rise in London and Daniel Craig then decided that it was not worth taking the risk of going back and forth, for a few days of express filming.
We remember that rumors circulated a few months ago, evoking the possibility of seeing Daniel Craig play Baldur the Brave, another member of the Illuminati, in Doctor Strange 2… that 007 ultimately didn’t play either!
Fun fact, Krasinski wasn’t the first choice, the actor originally set to play the role was all set to shoot but when there was an uptick in COVID cases, he backed out as he was living in London and didn’t think the quick shoot wasn’t worth risk of bringing back COVID to the fam pic.twitter.com/sD9nT0omki
