Christopher Walken will be the Emperor of Dune 2


The actor will play Padishah Shaddam IV, the ruler of the universe in Denis Villeneuve’s film.

The cast of Dunes 2 takes on a new dimension: the legendary Christopher WalkenOscar winner in 1979 for Journey to the End of Hell, and who is currently a hit in the brilliant series Severanceon Apple TV+, has just signed on to join the film by Denis Villeneuve.

Christopher Walken will star as Emperor Padishah Shaddam IV, the ruler of the known universe and the man who originally sent the Atreides family to Arrakis, which triggered the downfall of their house (in Part 1). In Dune: Part 2, the Emperor will play an even bigger role, as he and Baron Vladimir Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård) will together try to quell a rebellion that is beginning to form.

Dune 2: Denis Villeneuve confirms his intention to make three films

The production of Dunes 2 should be launched during the summer. A release date is already scheduled for October 20, 2023.
